The third Pan-African Conference on Artificial Intelligence (PanAfriConAI) was inaugurated in Ethiopia with the participation of high-ranking officials.
In the opening remarks, Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh emphasised that “Africa is not a passive consumer of technology. We are ready to lead.” These words reflect the continent’s growing role in shaping global technology trends.
Temesgen noted that the PanAfriConAI conference symbolises Africa’s achievements in technology and serves as a foundation for the development of artificial intelligence on the continent. This is reported by

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasised Ethiopia’s focus on advancing AI initiatives, as well as the importance of developing the sector across Africa to achieve universal progress.
During the conference, a variety of research papers were presented demonstrating the impact and application of artificial intelligence in various fields. Temesgen urged Africans to seize the opportunity by educating and training professionals in the field through education, training and research.
