Speaking at the opening of the G20 Ministerial Plenary, Brazilian Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said that the Brazilian G20 Presidency had sought consensus and presented historic documents and an agenda with recommendations to increase access to vertical and environmental funds, as well as a series of G20 Notes on issues such as inequality, debt and climate change.

He argued that the very existence of the G20 is proof that global economic governance is evolving, reflecting important changes in the world economy. This is reported by Agencia CMA, a partner of TV BRICS.

He emphasised that G20 countries must focus on substantially increasing climate finance. A rapid and equitable energy transition that does not conflict with the protection of life, livelihoods and biodiversity around the world must be promoted.
