Ethiopia is actively preparing for the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan. This is announced by the Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Assefa.
Ahead of the COP29 summit, Ethiopia is engaging with partners and stakeholders to identify its priorities and expected outcomes. The Ministry of Planning and Development is working with relevant partners to prepare for the conference.
Fitsum emphasised that the country is currently conducting preliminary assessments to effectively address the key climate change issues that will be raised at COP29. Active discussions are underway to prioritise issues, including climate analysis studies aimed at educating children ahead of the climate week. This is reported by

The Minister noted the importance of addressing climate change as a global challenge and reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to working together to address it with all stakeholders.
