China has advanced its agricultural technology by creating a sophisticated sky-ground intelligent monitoring and early warning system to tackle plant pests and diseases, reports
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The innovative system, developed by the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is designed to improve pest management and crop protection efficiency through a combination of cutting-edge technologies.

This system employs chip-level intelligent pest detection devices, along with specialised drone remote sensing solutions, to carry out low-altitude inspections. Together, these technologies establish a multi-scale monitoring system capable of providing real-time and precise warnings for over 20 major pests and diseases. This system, known as the “Smart Eye,” enables dynamic monitoring and high-precision data collection at both near-ground and regional levels.

The integration of artificial intelligence and aerospace information technology significantly enhances early detection and improves pest management outcomes, making it a valuable tool for modern agriculture, the source claims.
