In 2024, Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre successfully recorded more than one million air transport movements. This is reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
This achievement reinforces the UAE’s role as a key global aviation hub due to its strategic geographical location, modern infrastructure and efficient operating systems.
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE’s Minister of Economy and Chairman of GCAA, stressed that this achievement is more than just a numerical milestone; it reflects the UAE’s commitment to developing its aviation sector as a vital component of the national economy and strengthening its status as a leading air transport destination.
He noted the UAE’s innovative initiatives aimed at increasing the competitiveness of civil aviation both regionally and globally.
As part of the “We the UAE 2031” and “The Year of Sustainable Development” concepts, the Centre also implements sustainable methods to achieve the country’s goals, while minimising the impact of the aviation industry on the environment.
