Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva held a telephone conversation with the Crown Prince, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. This was reported by the
press service of the Brazilian leader.

Lula da Silva noted the high level of relations between Brasilia and Riyadh. He also said that the coordination council of the two states, created last November, will strengthen the dialogue between the countries. In addition, the Brazilian head of state thanked the kingdom for joining the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty, created at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro in November.

The Brazilian President confirmed that he received a very positive report from the visiting Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, in Riyadh, on the possibilities of bilateral cooperation.

The Brazilian leader during the phone call also drew attention to the growing trade volume between the kingdom and the republic. He said Saudi Arabia has the status of Brazil’s largest trading partner in the Middle East. Lula da Silva emphasised the importance of diversifying trade turnover through high value-added products (goods created using sophisticated technology and processing, which increases their value).

For his part, the Saudi Crown Prince congratulated the Brazilian President on the success of the G20 summit. He expressed satisfaction with the development of the partnership between the two countries, especially in the energy sector.

Lula da Silva invited Al Saud to visit Brazil in 2025. The Brazilian leader himself last visited Saudi Arabia in November 2023. At that time, he held talks with Al Saud in Riyadh.
