Russian President Vladimir Putin and Brazilian leader Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva discussed prospects for further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. During the conversation, special attention was paid to interaction in the political, trade, economic spheres, as well as contacts at various levels were outlined.
The conversation touched upon the topic of Brazil’s chairmanship of BRICS in 2025. The leaders expressed their mutual readiness for close coordination on key issues on the agenda of the association. This is reported by the official website of the Russian President.
Earlier, Brazil’s Foreign Ministry Secretary for Asia and the Pacific and former BRICS Sherpa Eduardo Paes Saboia said that in 2025, the group will pay special attention to climate change, sustainable development and regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) issues. The main event, the BRICS summit, is provisionally expected in July 2025 in Rio de Janeiro.
