BRICS Symphony Women Orchestra will be composed of 10 Brazilian women, including a female conductor. The other 65 musicians will be recruited from other BRICS countries. The announcement was made at the first meeting of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance in Brasilia by its head, Monica Monteiro.
There will be performances in major cities throughout the year, including Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. The main concert is expected to take place in July 2025.
An important aspect of the project is to promote concert music to a wider audience and to enhance cultural diversity through a carefully selected symphonic repertoire. Each participating country will present works of significant cultural value for their country. This is reported by the official website of the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (WBA).
Earlier Monica Monteiro in an
exclusive interview with TV BRICS said about the experience of developing international bilateral cooperation and the gender issue in the economy.
