The inauguration ceremony of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro took place in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, on 10 January. He took office as head of state for a third term from 2025 to 2031.

Maduro took the oath of office before the President of the National Assembly (parliament of the country) Jorge Rodriguez on a copy of the country’s constitution, signed by former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez (1999-2002, 2002-2013). Rodriguez then presented the presidential ribbon to the head of state.

“I will ensure compliance with all the obligations provided for in the constitution and laws of the republic. The new presidential term will be a period of prosperity, equality, and new democracy”
