Generative AI is projected to revolutionise India’s job landscape, with an estimated transformation of 38 million jobs by 2030, according to
IANS, a partner of TV BRICS.

This technological shift is expected to drive a 2.61 per cent productivity boost in the organised sector, complemented by an additional 2.82 per cent increase in the unorganised sector, marking a significant economic impact.

The experts highlight that 24 per cent of tasks across industries could be fully automated, while another 42 per cent could benefit from AI-enhanced efficiency, potentially freeing up 8-10 hours per week for knowledge workers.

The services sector is poised to see the most substantial productivity gains due to its high labour-to-output ratio. Among business processes, call centre management is expected to achieve an 80 per cent productivity boost, followed by software development at 61 per cent, content creation at 45 per cent, customer services at 44 per cent, and sales and marketing at 41 per cent.

India’s journey towards AI integration could position the country as a global hub for AI talent, provided there is a strong focus on public-private collaborations and investments in skill development, the source claims.
