Indonesia is making strides towards achieving energy self-sufficiency with the launch of 37 strategic energy projects, spearheaded by President Prabowo Subianto. This is reported by
ANTARA News Agency.
These initiatives cover 26 power plants with a total capacity of 3.2 gigawatts, as well as 11 vital transmission networks and substations that cover 18 provinces.
Furthermore, these infrastructure developments form a critical foundation for supporting Indonesia’s broader economic transformation towards becoming an industrialised nation, placing energy at the forefront of the nation’s strategic development goals.
Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, highlighted the significant role of clean and renewable energy in this initiative, noting that a remarkable 89 per cent of the total 3.2 gigawatts capacity will be derived from such sources.
