Russian researchers from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and the Yaroslavl State Technical University (YSTU) have introduced an innovative plant growth regulator that significantly boosts seed germination and increases crop yields by up to 1.5 times. This is reported by the official website of MIPT.
The regulator also accelerates plant maturation by 7 to 10 days. The core of this breakthrough is sulfonylpropionic acid salts, used as the foundation for a phytohormone-based solution for the first time, with no structural analogues currently available on the market.
Unlike conventional growth stimulants that rely on organic bases and solvents such as dichloromethane and triethylamine, this new compound is environmentally safe and non-toxic, as confirmed by extensive laboratory testing.
The prototype has successfully passed toxicological evaluations, underscoring its safety for both humans and the environment, the source claims.
