On the instructions of the Head of State, Kazakhstan has begun construction of three new airports in the resort areas of Zaisan, Katon-Karagai and Kendirli. These projects are aimed at the development of domestic tourism, passenger air travel and the economy of the regions. This is reported by
“Kazinform” International News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

In parallel, three new passenger terminals in Almaty, Shymkent and Kyzylorda were commissioned in 2024 as part of the modernisation of air transport infrastructure. The capacity of the airports increased significantly: in Almaty – from 2.5 million to 14 million passengers per year, in Shymkent – from 800,000 to 6 million, and in Kyzylorda – from 300,000 to 2 million passengers per year.

The development of the aviation industry in Kazakhstan is accompanied by the renewal of the aircraft fleet. Every year the country’s fleet is replenished with 10-15 aircraft, and the level of flight safety meets 82 per cent of world standards, which is the highest among CIS countries.

These measures contribute to the growth of tourism, increase the investment attractiveness of the regions and strengthen Kazakhstan’s economic potential in the international arena.
