Meli Ndlovu, a prominent long-distance cyclist from South Africa, is preparing for an ambitious journey that will take him from Cape Town to Cairo, Egypt.
He has more than 36 medals to his credit and among his notable achievements is cycling 1600 kilometres from Durban (South Africa) to Gweru (Zimbabwe) in four days. This is reported by the
African Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
“When I first cycled to Zimbabwe, people didn’t fully understand what I was doing, but they supported me a lot. Over time, many have joined in and even cycled with me,” he notes.
Ndlovu has now set his sights on travelling from the Cape to Cairo in a bid to promote health, education and sport, inspiring young people across Africa. This journey is not only about breaking personal records, but also about sharing vital messages with young people across Africa. “We want to teach youth about health and life. They’re the future leaders of our continent, and we must guide them,” he says.
With his ambition to set a Guinness World Records and his dream of a healthy future for Africa, Ndlovu has enlisted the support of individuals and organisations around the world.
