Indonesia has participated for the first time in the Havana International Jazz Festival, represented by renowned saxophonist Yuyun George. This cultural milestone serves as a powerful bridge uniting both nations, Indonesian Ambassador to Cuba Nana Yuliana stated.

During a ceremony held in honour of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Cuba, the Indonesian ambassador highlighted the shared values of mutual respect and deep-rooted cooperation that have defined their partnership. This is reported by
Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

“Our commitment remains strong as we continue working together in global forums such as the G77+China, the Global South, and, more recently, BRICS+,” she stated.

Indonesia’s recent inclusion as the first Southeast Asian member of BRICS underscores the country’s proactive approach to foreign policy, she added.

Earlier, two countries signed a number of agreements, which include a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on visa exemptions for diplomatic and service passport holders, cooperation in science, technology, and innovation, and an agreement between their respective chambers of commerce to foster economic collaboration.

“The event tonight is more than just a celebration of 65 years of diplomatic relations. It is a reaffirmation of our shared vision for the future,” the ambassador concluded
